A star is born – the history of the family winery

The story of the Gambino family goes back to 1978 when Vittorio Raciti bought the property and dedicated the land to his wife, Maria Gambino. Since then the brothers Gambino, Francesco and Filadelfo mix tradition and new technologies in their wine making process.

Today the winery includes 25 hectares in Linguaglossa, the heart of Etna, overlooking the Mediterranean Sea and close to beautiful Taormina.

Why Gambino’s?

Nestled off the coast of the Italian mainland, on the beautiful island of Sicily, you’ll find this stunning gem – the Gambino Winery. As part of Mt Etna, a still active volcano and 800 meters above see level the unique climate and soil conditions of this picturesque location is the perfect setting to produce the world’s most finest wines.

The entire vinification process, from the use of stainless-steel tanks to the refinement of the wine in aged oak barrels, is done in the natural temperature-controlled, underground cellar.

The Gambino Winery cellar is ten meters underground, dug into the volcanic rock for a natural control of temperature beyond technology.

The winemaker carefully selects the oak barrels, to combine tradition and new technologies, thus reducing sulfites and pulling out the best flavours and revealing the best expressions of their wines.
